10 Reasons to Play Junior College Baseball
March 6, 2020Heritage vs Green Level
March 8, 2020Impact was in the house on a cold/windy night to watch two very good North Carolina High School programs battle it out. Find out more about the two clubs below.
NW Guilford:
Hayden Summers (2020 University of North Carolina Signee): The right hander was electric for the Vikings. The Tarheel signee sat 90-92 and touched 93 mph a few times. Along with the fastball, he also flashed a 77 mph strikeout slider. This arm is one to watch come June in the Major League Draft.
Joey Rezek (2020 East Carolina Signee): showed off his powerful swing along with his quick hands at the dish. What was more impressive was how the Pirate signee handled the arms behind the dish for the Vikings.
Gavin Mortenson (2020 Western Carolina Signee): is an athlete on the field. Not only did the future Catamount flash the leather a few times at shortstop, but he also showed he could handle the stick too.
Randleman:
Dominick Poole (2020 Baseball & Football Citadel Signee): was by far the best athlete on the field. After making some good reads in center field on some tough balls, he came to close the game too.
Matt Kemp (2020 NC State Signee): got the start on the mound for the Tigers. The Wolfpack signee would settle in after the first and put it in cruise control for the next few innings.
Brooks Brannon (2022, Uncommitted): is very mature for his age behind the plate. He controls the game and is a high energy guy back there. Also, is a very strong right handed hitter.
Gus Shelton (2022, Uncommitted): is a powerful right handed hitter. As a hitter Shelton looks to drive in runs for the Tigers. This young hitter is very disciplined at the plate and does not swing at anything outside of the zone.
