Hunter: What are your expectations for this year?
Tyler: “My expectations this year are to play the best I can possibly play every game and every practice and I know with that comes everything else. I don’t go out there thinking oh I have to hit this average or this many doubles or anything I just go out there and play to the best of my ability and the rest will come. As a team we hope to win the conference championship and make it as deep into the playoffs as possible.”
Hunter: What have you done to prepare for the season during covid?
Tyler: “I have kept on my regular routine hitting and throwing everyday and continuing to lift weights in preparation for the season. Covid has been good in the fact that during online school I was able to hit more often and school not starting until 10 allows me to get up later in the morning and still be able to get throwing and hitting done.”
Hunter: How are practices different with all the protocols?
Tyler: “Practices have changed in the fact that we have to do a temperature check in and fill out a sheet asking about covid symptoms. We also have to wear a mask and the season has basically been cut in half.”
Hunter: What are you most excited for in the upcoming season?
Tyler: “I am most excited to get to play with the seniors one last time as last year was cut short. We are confident going into this year and I look forward to winning as many games as we possibly can.”
Hunter: What’s ONE word that can describe your team?
Tyler: “Family is one word I would use to describe our team I believe we are a very close group that has each other’s backs and we know everyone’s strengths and weaknesses.”
Hunter: What is your favorites thing about school ball?
Tyler: “My favorite thing about high school ball is getting to represent Grimsley high school and getting to play with some of my best friends. I love how competitive it is and how every game really matters.”
