On Saturday May 1st, Impact Baseball held the Middle School All-Star Game at the Burlington Royals Stadium in Burlington, NC. There was talent all over the field. Our staff has broken down the top performers and prospects to keep an eye on for the future.
Top Performers Below:
1. Jack Dalton– Wake Christian (NC) 2025 Grad. Jack possesses a short, quick swing with power to the pull side. Also, Jack has an advanced approach at the plate with good knowledge for the strike zone. He has good lateral movement on the infield with quiet feet and has good carry on the baseball across the diamond. Has the ability to play all three positions on the infield.
2. Ryan Wallace– Union Pines (NC) 2025 Grad. Ryan was the most impressive pitcher of the day. His fastball sits in the low 80s with a top end of 83 and good arm side life. Displays a solid three pitch mix with a mid 60s breaking ball and a change up in the low 70s. Ryan has advanced feel for the strike zone and an all around polished attack to pitching.
3. Will Holden– West Forsyth (NC) 2026 Grad. Will displayed the most tools of the day. He is very mechanically sound behind the plate, with a 2.05 pop time. Showed good glove work and arm strength at third base. He had two good plate appearances by finding the barrel on two loud balls in play. He then pitched the 9th inning and ran his fastball up to 81 accompanied with a 70 mph breaking ball and plus feel for his changeup. Definitely a young guy to follow.
4. Jack Brodeur– Jordan High School (NC) 2025 Grad. Jack has a big physical frame, with a loose arm action on the mound and across the diamond. Shows high level glove skills and demonstrated the ability to hit the ball to all fields with power. Made a very athletic play on a slow roller at third base. On the mound he was low 80s with his fastball, 68 mph with his breaking ball, and 66mph with his changeup. Jack is a very good two way player moving forward.
Guys To Keep A Close Eye On:
Jackson King– North Johnston (NC) 2025 Grad. Lanky projectable right handed pitcher that ran the fastball up to 81 with a 70 mph wipe out breaking ball.
Evan Johnson– Kerr Vance Academy (NC) 2025 Grad. Really like him in the outfield, can cover a lot ground quickly due a great first step. He possesses a short, compact left handed swing. Kid can run.
CJ Gray– AL Brown (NC) 2025 Grad. Middle infielder with great range and can make a lot of plays, good hitter.
Tristen Cook– Garner (NC) 2025 Grad. Really good defender, with sure hands, and a good right handed swing. Athletic frame with room to grow.
Joshua Anderson– Willow Springs (NC) 2025 Grad. Really like him on the mound, low ¾ slot with sink. Fastball was an easy 80-81 and was very heavy. Josh creates a lot of deception with his delivery.
