March 9, 2021ID Camp Breakdown – March 21
March 25, 2021By: Trey Daly
Another exciting Impact ID Camp took place over the weekend at Winston Salem Dash Stadium. This was a great day for baseball and not to mention a great venue. Check out the action below..
*If you are a talented middle school or high school baseball player, we’d love to see you at our next ID Camp! [Click here for more information]
*College Coaches/Professional Scouts: If you have any questions or need any information on any of these players, please contact us!
Top 5 Prospects:
1. JT Taylor, INF, Concord Academy – 2023 Grad
JT Taylor is a name to remember. The athletic middle infielder has gotten stronger over the winter. He showed good range and very good hands in the middle of the diamond. In the box, he shows a short compact swing with the ability to stay inside the baseball and drive balls over the field.
2. Coleman McGinnis, C/OF/RHP, Eastern Alamance HS – 2023 Grad
Coleman had an impressive day! He showed arm strength all over the diamond including behind the plate. In the box, he showed loud contact and the ability to backspin the baseball. The 6’0 catcher has room to continue to fill out and will be a guy to follow.
3. CJ Powell, C/INF, Eastern Alamance HS – 2022 Grad
By far, the loudest BP of the day! Man, was it loud! Not to mention in a stadium it made it sound like rockets going off. CJ starts with a slightly open stance with a slightly uphill swing. Powell has pull side power with the ability to chase balls out of the yard. With CJ’s ability to hit, he will be in the lineup somewhere.
4. Tatum Marsh, INF/OF, Asheboro HS – 2021 Grad
Tatum is a good looking athlete! Marsh can play multiple positions on the field. Tatum stands in the left side of the box at the dish. College coaches, if you’re looking for a good solid 2021 player still on the market; here’s your guy!
5. Karson Knox, C/OF/RHP, North Raleigh Christian – 2023 Grad
First time seeing Knox and he was fun to watch. Knox looks like a baseball player, he does alot of things well on the diamond and you can tell he’s an assist to any team. I personally like Knox behind the dish. He has the arm strength and shows the ability to the receive. I’m personally excited to follow this young man, he’s a good player!
Just missed –
Dalton Fryar, C, RHP, SE Guilford – 2022 Grad
This was the second ID Camp Mr. Fryar has attended, and you can tell he’s been working! The BP was loud and showed some strength in the swing. His highest exit velocity was 89 mph. Fryar would also flash a 2.09 pop time behind the dish.
