IMPACT Baseball Announces 2021 Summer Tournament Schedule
November 24, 2020ID Camp Breakdown – January 31
February 2, 2021By: Trey Daly
If you’ve never been to Wingate University baseball facility, it’s a must see for all you baseball players and fans! This was the site of Sunday’s Impact ID Camp and what a great day it was with over 50 players from three different states in attendance. Check out the results below..
Our ID Camps have been a big hit with college coaches. We’ve been flooded with player information requests from college coaches at all different levels. I’ve said it many times, if you are a good player and you are not getting recruited it’s likely because college coaches just don’t know who you are yet. Attending one or more of our ID Camps is a sure-fire way to be evaluated by people who can help you start the recruiting process. If you can play – we can help you.
Like always, in this article I’m going to break down my opinion of the Top 5 Prospects based off of what I saw at the ID Camp. This is not based off of what I may have seen in the past, strictly what I saw at camp. Also, you’ll find results and more opinions based on several other categories below.
*If you are a talented middle school or high school baseball player, we’d love to see you at our next ID Camp! [Click Here for more information]
*College Coaches/Professional Scouts: If you have any questions or need any information on any of these players, please contact us!
Top 5 Prospects
1. Alex Martinez – INF, Grand Street (NY) – 2022 Grad
Yes, you read that right New York! Mr. Martinez, was fun to watch Sunday during our ID Camp. He showed super smooth hands in the middle of the diamond with arm strength. In the box, the LHH showed a short compact swing driving balls with back spin to all area of the fields. The best part about Martinez is he’s still growing into his body and the future looks bright for the young man!
2. Ethan Gravely, RHP, SW Randolph HS – 2022 Grad
If you like athletic baseball players, Ethan Gravely is your guy! Ethan does alot of things well on the diamond, but looking down the road I think pitching is his ticket. The 6’3 wiry frame RHP would flash a fastball up to 84 mph in the bullpen and showed good feel for a mid 70’s change up. The breaking pitch has to keep coming, but the loose arm RHP has a high ceiling and will be fun to watch moving forward.
3. Myles Vazquez, 1B/LHP, Grand Street – 2022 Grad
Myles showed strength in the swing from the left side of the dish. The physical young man doesn’t try to do to much in the box, but you can tell he has to the strength to leave the yard at any time. On the mound the Southpaw fastball would reach 81 mph and showed good feel for a low 70’s slider.
4. Brycen Coleman, C/1B, Topsail HS – 2022 Grad
I really liked Mr. Coleman behind the dish, the physical 6’3 junior showed good receiving skills and arm strength in Sunday’s workout. In the box, he would juice some balls into the gaps. One of the most intriguing aspects of Brycen is the frame can get even stronger, which is going be very appealing to college coaches.
5. Mason Hatcher, OF/RHP, Halifax – 2024 Grad
Hatcher just being a freshman in High School is a definitely a guy to circle for the future. The 6’1 wiry young man has a ton of upside on the mound. He showed loose/easy arm action and would flash a 78 mph fastball and a hard 66 mph breaking ball. Very exciting future for Mason!
*Just missed Top 5
Landon Johnson, RHP, West Stokes – 2023 Grad
Johnson is another super projectable arm! The 6’5 RHP out of West Stokes, North Carolina is still figuring out his arsenal on the mound. But, when it comes together.. Watch out! Looking forward to keeping tabs on Mr. Johnson.
