There is nothing like a crosstown rival against two good programs. Impact was in the house to watch as North Stanly hosted West Stanly. Read more to find out about some players…

North Stanly:

Colby Hammer (2020 OF, Catawba College Commit) is a true leadoff hitter and spark plug. Hammer lead the Comets with three stolen bases an also had two hits. The quick twitch centerfielder can cover a lot of ground in the outfield as well.

Rhett Lowder (2020 RHP, Wake Forest Signee): was lights out. Lowder threw 6 2/3 innings only allowing four hits and striking out 12. He sat 88-90 and topped 91 mph with the fastball and his strikeout pitch was the 78 mph slider. The Comet starter would also flash a 81 mph changeup to both LHH’s and RHH’s. I would keep a close eye on this kid as the June Draft rolls around.

West Stanly:

Michael Crayton (2021 RHP, Uncommitted): got the ball for the Colts last night. The 6’4” righty was 82-85 and topped out at 86 mph. Crayton would also show a 69-72 mph slider that would allow him to compete on the mound. With his size and frame, there is more in the tank for Mr. Crayton.

Connor Tucker (2021 INF, Uncommitted): the smooth fielding shortstop would make every play look easy and showed off a plus arm as well. Tucker, who’s a left handed hitter in the box would show a well-balanced swing with quick hands and looks very mature facing the comets.

Cody Naylor (2020 C, Barton Signee): would be a wall behind the plate. We have seen Naylor earlier this season at our Impact College Coach Camp; he was impressive there as well. On the afternoon Naylor would nail a couple of baserunners on the path for the Comets.
