North Carolina high school baseball is known for talent. Some of the best talent, year in and year out, comes from the mountain region. Wesley King, the Head Coach of Christ School, is one of the state’s best developers of baseball talent. He has been all over the state coaching. His most recent stop is Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. Today, in this episode of “Program Preview”, he will break down what the 2023 Christ School Greenies look to achieve this year.

When you arrived on the scene at Christ School in 2020, what was one thing you were amazed by about Christ School looking back?
The family feel on campus daily and our schools long history and tradition.

When you hear the word Christ School, what comes to your mind?
Discipline, high level academics, and brotherhood.

Your coaching resume is pretty impressive and where you have been.. Take us through the one common standard you take every place you have coached?
A work ethic that we will not be outworked or out prepared by any team in NC.

Moving onto the 2023 Christ School club, what’s your strength to the Greenies?
Our overall team speed and athleticism.

What are some key match ups you look forward to on the schedule?
All of our NCISAA 4A matchups, Rabun Gap, ACA, and Knoxville Catholic.

When you hear the word “leadership” who are the guy’s that comes to mind in 2023?
Brody Raleigh (Western Carolina Signee) & Johno Pierce(Roane State Signee). Both of these young men are everything to our program. They do things the way you are supposed to on a daily basis in the classroom, on the field, and as mentors to our young players.

Bold prediction – What’s your gut tell you about the 2023 year?
If we can get healthy, and stay healthy, we could be a very difficult team to beat at the end of the year heading into the NCISAA playoffs.
