March 3, 2020It was beautiful opening night for baseball in North Carolina. Tonight we decided to travel to Southwest Randolph for a JV/Varsity double dip against the Patriots of Providence Grove. Find out more about the players below:
Southwest Randolph:
Braxton Davis: (2020 Catawba College Commit) The senior right hander was dominant over four innings of work. He sat 82-85 mph, topping 86 mph. Davis allowed no runs on two hits, while striking out eight. At the plate he went 2-3 with a triple and 2rbi’s.
Tyler Parks: (2023, Uncommitted) This young prospect shows a good amount of upside on the diamond. The Freshman started at third and had two walks at the dish with two runs scored.
Ethan Gravely: (2022, Uncommitted) The 6’3 right hander was 80-83 mph touching 84. He was very impressive on the mound showing a plus slider that was up to 70 mph.
Providence Grove:
Drew Needham: (2020 Western Carolina Commit) plays third base for the Patriots. The strong left handed hitter showed a balanced swing with pop all over the field. He will hit third for PG this year.
Luke Thomas: (2022, Uncommitted) The athletic Center fielder showed great range in the outfield, as well as a plus arm. The right handed hitter showed a relaxed swing at the plate.
