College Baseball Fan Support

No doubt about it having a lot of fans in the stands helps create a great college baseball atmosphere. There are a few programs across the USA that have great fan support. It seems like LSU wins the attendance title every year averaging over 10,000 fans per game. That many fans in the stands helps create an electric atmosphere.

Having thousands of fans in the stands is a major bonus but those games count just the same as the games with only moms and girlfriends in the stands. A win is a win. Wins against a team with great fan support don’t count for any more on your team record. But I don’t know anyone who could say playing in front of a huge crowd isn’t more fun!

Certain programs across the country are known for their abusive fans and others for how hospitable their fans are. I have heard many alarming stories about the abrasive fans at certain programs.

Programs with great fan support are more likely to host a Regional tournament. When you are in the recruiting process ask the coaches for the actual home game attendance. Don’t be surprised at the numbers, the majority of schools don’t draw well.

A strong fan base won’t make or break your college baseball experience but it certainly makes for more fun!
