Hunter: What are your expectations for this school year?
Braeden: My expectations for this school year are to continue the tradition of excellence for the Dirtbags, competing with and against great players from around the country. I would like to further develop my baseball skill set and baseball IQ. My goal is to gain exposure to college recruiters in order to play at the next level in the future.
Hunter: What have you done to prepare for the season during Covid?
Braeden: Luckily, during Covid my schedule has remained the same. I continue to train mentally and physically on a weekly basis. This includes: hitting the weight room, practicing fielding and hitting, getting additional instructions from other coaches, and striving for straight A’s in the classroom.
Hunter: How are practices different with all of the protocols?
Braeden: At my High School in Florida, the only thing different was we had to wear masks at school. At practice, the masks were optional, not mandatory. Practices were the same. We were still able to touch the same ball and we didn’t have to socially distance ourselves like other schools outside of Florida.
Hunter: What are you most excited for in the upcoming season?
Braeden: I am most excited to compete against the top competition from around the country. It will be exciting to meet my new teammates and build life-long friendships with them. As well as creating a strong relationship with my coaches.
Hunter: What’s one word that can describe your team?
Braeden: One word that can describe my team is FAMILY!! We support each other on and off the field. We do everything together, whether its’ eating lunch at school or hanging out outside of school.
Hunter: What is your favorite thing about school ball?
Braeden: My favorite thing about school ball is getting to compete against other High Schools and representing my High School team. This year, we won Districts and hosted Regionals for the first time since 2014. I love how strong of a bond my team has. School ball creates a brotherhood!
